Privacy Policy for AnKnows

AnKnows ("AnKnows", "we", "our", or "the app") is a communication assistance application designed to help users understand messages, generate possible replies, and express their thoughts more naturally.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected, how it is used, how it may be stored, and the choices available to users.

1. Information You Provide

Depending on the features you use, AnKnows may process information that you voluntarily provide, including:

• Email address and account information used for authentication.
• Messages or text that you enter into the app.
• Relationship context, communication goals, and other context you choose to provide.
• Saved people or contact labels that you voluntarily create inside the app.
• Your communication preferences, such as preferred tone, reply length, emoji style, and energy style.
• Feedback you provide about generated or suggested responses.
• Edits you make to suggested responses when supported by the app.
• Beta testing feedback that you voluntarily submit.

2. Communication Memory and History

AnKnows may allow you to save communication history and related context so that previous interactions can be viewed later and the app can provide a more personalized experience.

Where available, you can control whether Communication Memory is enabled and may clear saved communication history through the app.

3. Personalization and Learning Signals

AnKnows may use information such as your preferred tones, communication settings, selected responses, rejected responses, feedback, and edited responses to personalize future suggestions.

These signals are intended to help the app better reflect your communication preferences over time.

4. How We Use Information

Information processed by AnKnows may be used to:

• Provide and operate the app's features.
• Authenticate users and maintain account sessions.
• Understand user-provided communication context.
• Generate or prepare communication suggestions.
• Personalize responses based on user preferences and feedback.
• Save communication history when the user chooses to enable that feature.
• Maintain security and prevent misuse or excessive automated requests.
• Diagnose errors and improve the reliability and functionality of the app.

5. Service Providers and Data Processing

AnKnows uses third-party infrastructure and service providers where necessary to operate the app.

AnKnows currently uses Supabase for services such as authentication, database functionality, and server-side functions. Information required to provide these features may therefore be processed through Supabase infrastructure.

AnKnows may also use artificial intelligence service providers to provide message analysis, reply generation, rewriting, or related communication features. If these services are enabled, text and relevant context that you submit may be transmitted to the applicable AI service provider for processing in order to return the requested result.

We aim to send only information reasonably necessary to provide the requested functionality.

6. Data Storage

Depending on the feature, information may be stored locally on your device or in cloud infrastructure used by AnKnows.

Cloud-stored information may include account-related information, communication preferences, saved people, communication history, and personalization or learning signals.

7. Data Retention

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the app, maintain your account, support features you choose to use, comply with applicable obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the security of the service.

Certain information may be deleted earlier when you clear supported information or delete your account.

8. Account and Data Deletion

AnKnows provides an in-app account deletion feature. Signed-in users can open the Privacy & Data section of the app and select “Delete account permanently.”

You may also request account deletion by emailing support@anknows.com from the email address associated with your AnKnows account. Use “Delete My AnKnows Account” as the subject.

We may need to verify that the request was sent by the account owner before completing an email-based deletion request.

When an account deletion request is successfully completed, account data associated with that deletion process, including supported saved people, communication profile information, learning feedback, communication history, and related records, may be deleted from AnKnows systems.

Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, protect security, prevent fraud or abuse, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. Account deletion is intended to be permanent and may not be reversible.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information processed through AnKnows.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

AnKnows is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected in a manner inconsistent with applicable law, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

11. International Data Processing

Service providers used by AnKnows may process or store information in countries other than the country in which you live.

As a result, information may be subject to the laws of jurisdictions where the applicable service provider operates.

12. Your Choices

Depending on the features available in the app, you may be able to:

• Choose whether to save Communication Memory.
• Clear supported communication history.
• Manage saved people and communication preferences.
• Choose what text and contextual information you submit.
• Delete your AnKnows account through the app.
• Request account deletion by contacting AnKnows support.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as AnKnows develops, including when features, service providers, or legal requirements change.

When the policy is updated, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
